Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 16, 2026
DevQ (“we”, “us”) builds and maintains websites for businesses across the United States. This policy explains what personal information we collect through thedevq.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
DevQ is operated by Josh Yager Ltd. You can reach us at josh@thedevq.com or 216.290.1485 about anything in this policy, including a request to access or delete your information.
Information you give us
When you submit a form on this site, we collect what you type into it. Depending on the form, that is some combination of:
- Your name and company name
- Your email address and phone number
- Your website address
- Details about your business that you choose to tell us, such as how many locations you run or what software you use
- Anything else you write in a free-text field
We ask for this so we can answer you. We do not require you to give us any of it in order to read the site.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this one records some technical information when you visit:
- IP address, browser type, device type and operating system
- Pages you viewed, how you arrived, and how long you stayed
- Referring URLs and, for visitors arriving from an ad, the campaign that brought you
Cookies and tracking
We use Google Tag Manager to load a small number of measurement tools:
- Google Analytics – tells us which pages get used and which do not. We use it in aggregate; we are not trying to identify individual visitors.
- Google Ads conversion tracking – when you arrive from one of our ads and then submit a form or click our phone number, this records that the ad worked. It is how we decide where to spend advertising budget. When you submit a form, the email address and phone number you entered are also sent to Google in hashed (scrambled) form, so Google can match the enquiry to the ad click even if you switched devices. Google receives them hashed, not in readable form, and we do not use them to advertise to you.
These set cookies in your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics specifically using Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Blocking them does not stop you using the site.
We also run CleanTalk, an anti-spam service that inspects form submissions to decide whether they came from a real person or a bot. To do that it processes the submission contents along with your IP address and browser details.
How we use your information
We use it to:
- Reply to you and, if it goes that way, quote and deliver work
- Keep a record of our correspondence
- Understand which pages and which ads bring in enquiries
- Keep the site secure and free of spam
- Meet our tax, accounting and legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that make the site work, and only so far as they need it:
- WP Engine – hosts this website and stores form submissions
- Google – analytics, tag management, advertising measurement, and our email
- CleanTalk – spam filtering on form submissions
We will also disclose information if we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to protect our rights or someone’s safety.
How long we keep it
Form submissions stay in the website’s database and in our email so we have a record of the conversation. If you ask us to delete your enquiry, we will, other than anything we have to retain for tax or legal reasons. Analytics data is retained on Google’s standard schedule.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can email us and ask to:
- See what personal information we hold about you
- Have it corrected if it is wrong
- Have it deleted
- Stop hearing from us
If you are a California resident, the CCPA and CPRA give you the right to know what we collect, to have it deleted, to correct it, and not to be treated differently for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you are welcome to confirm that with us.
If you are in the UK or European Economic Area, you also have the right to object to processing, to request a portable copy of your data, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
Email josh@thedevq.com for any of the above. We will not charge you for it and we will respond within thirty days.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and hosted on managed infrastructure with daily backups, malware scanning and monitoring. No website can promise perfect security, but we do not collect payment details or sensitive personal data through this site, which keeps the risk small.
Children
This site is for business enquiries and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
Where we link out, the site you land on has its own privacy policy and we are not responsible for it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
